The best part of \"Ozempic face\"

You won't believe what my 12 year old said to me! 🫤

Most people that know me say I'm one of the most organized people they know.

In many ways, I definitely am. I love me a nice color-coded spreadsheet! 😍

But if you were to stumble into my office, you'd see a different side of me. My desk is in a constant state of ruin with notes and books and reminders and don't forget the chapstick, as well as ... who knows what else (currently, I haven't even bothered to close my desk drawer).

I'd still argue that it's organized because I know exactly where everything is.

Organized chaos.

Anyway. With all the awesomeness that he possesses, my 12 year old came into my office a few days ago and noticed an empty box I had on my desk.

I was saving it because ... I don't know ... just in case.

Weeks ago I purchased one of those face red light vibrator things. I'm sure you've seen them. They're supposedly magical and will get rid of wrinkles and spots and acne and drain your lymph and make your face baby butt smooth after the very first use. (Play "I Spy" to see if you can find it in the picture below 😜)

Yes, I was totally influenced. (But I actually don't regret it.)

So my son sees this empty box and asks what it was for. As I tell him it's supposed to help with wrinkles, he said ... "Good. You need that."

Nice. 😑

First of all (kiddo), I'm 47 years old. I'm allowed to have some wrinkles.

Second of all, I lived with an inflammed face for most of my life and now I no longer have 3 chins. (It's actually a friggin miracle)

Alas, I have some wrinkles on my face and neck. Many people call this "ozempic face". Whatever. It's because I had lots of fat and inflammation in my face and now I don't. Simple as that. 🙌🏻 It actually has nothing to do with GLP-1, per se.

I've heard many women say they don't want to go on GLP-1 meds because they don't want "ozempic face". To her, I say... well, I say "do what you want", but also...

Your loss. ☹️

A year ago, when I hit my current weight, my wrinkles were indeed much worse. And quite honestly, it's been 100% worth it. But over the last year, I've slowly seen some improvements, and while that number of my age is only going up, I'm convinced I'll continue to see improvements over time.

Because you know what, with time and the right inputs, your skin can renew itself and tighten up.

Now, for sure - some women may experience this loose skin and wrinkles much worse than others and some women won't be able to tighten their skin over time as well as others. It's definitely individual.

But it's also definitely dependent on if you're consistently giving your body proper nutrition, proper sleep, and proper hydration.

Sure, there are creams and magical light machines that will help (and actually, I do have a cream that does help and I do think this light machine thingy actually does make my skin feel quite nice), but you need to make sure you're giving your body what it needs on the inside first.

Isn't that true for just about everything?

And speaking of my kiddo saying awesome kiddo things as well as giving your body what it needs on the inside, here's one of his favorite "brain snappers" that he's getting quite the kick out of lately:

'If you weigh 99 pounds and eat a pound of nachos, are you 1% nacho?' (followed by 12 year old boy giggles).

Why yes, yes you are.

Food for thought. 😉

P.S. I'm almost ready to launch The Done Right Wellness Vault. 🤩 Inside The Vault, you'll have access to both GLP-1 Done Right as well as Healthy Habits Done Right, and everything I release in the future. It'll be your one-stop-shop for all things 'Done Right'.

P.P.S. My son really is the best and we got a good belly laugh after his comment. Even though he was "totally serious". We're working on tact. 😂

Question of the week:

Q: Can you avoid "Ozempic Face"?

A: Well, who knows, really, though I do know many women that haven't experienced it. A lot of it is going to depend on how much weight you end up losing, but there are ways to minimize the loose and wrinkly skin. The best way to try to avoid it or minimize, is to lose weight sloooowly. Don't be in a rush. Also, make sure you're not starving yourself, eat the carbs - especially fruits high in vitamin C for collagen production - eat appropriate amounts of protein, and stay hydrated. Also be sure you're sleeping. If you're not sleeping well, start with eating more (especially carbs at night) and see how that helps.

Modules 4 & 5 in GLP-1 Done Right will give you all the info you need to best avoid wrinkly skin.
