I'm a nutritionist and certified coach in nutrition, sleep, stress, and recovery - as well as an obsessive researcher - and I've spent more than two decades navigating my own complex health challenges.
I was diagnosed with PCOS in 1998, followed by hypothyroidism and chronic fatigue.
For years, I followed all the "best" medical and nutritional advice to heal my body—low-carb diets in all its forms, fasting, endless cardio, and heavy weightlifting (plus thousands of dollars in supplements)— all while battling crushing fatigue that made even basic daily life feel nearly impossible.
In fact, the harder I tried, the sicker and more overweight I became.
At some point, I realized I couldn't keep pushing harder - I had to find a way to do things differently. When I finally gave myself permission to stop trying so hard, that’s when everything changed.
I stopped lifting heavy weights and dropped my weekly running time from 3 days to just 1.
I stopped working out fasted, started introducing more carbs, and generally eating more food throughout the day.
I stopped listening to all the so-called gurus and started learning how the body actually processes the food and other inputs we give it.
When I shifted my approach and my mindset, I stopped needing daily naps and started finally living my life without feeling like I was in a cloud. It felt like a miracle.
And in 2022 I found GLP-1 medications - not because I was looking for a weight loss solution, but because I was researching amino acids in relation to my gall bladder (that's a story for another day).
I had no idea that research would be the icing on the cake to completely change my life.
